Fish and ornamental ponds on the balcony

Setting up or building a fish or ornamental pond on a balcony is thought of as complicated.

With our containers you can stand a container on any balcony or paved terrace and, with a simple pump, create a pleasant circulation that needs no digging, no advance preparation and no other work.

Our ornamental ponds are watertight and made of very thick iron (1-4 mm galvanised steel, made for us in China), so they last for years.

Every container has a drain outlet in the lower side wall, so it connects easily to a pump kit, and the return pipe to the pond can be fitted neatly.

With time the pond develops algae inside, which is necessary and important for the ecology of the water plants and fish. We recommend adding mosquitofish to the pond; they eat mosquito eggs, so the pond becomes an ecological pest control in your yard or on your balcony.

Do you sell pumps too?

We are a company that sells, imports and markets very large metal containers for planting and ponds. Pumps should be bought at a specialist shop according to the customer's needs. A professional we know, who can carry out the installation, can be engaged and paid directly.

Can the metal containers of a pond be painted?

Iron containers can be professionally powder coated with no problem. Any RAL shade can be chosen and we will do it.

In Retro containers the sealing is affected by powder coating, so we recommend lining them with a welded PP liner before filling with water, or closing the welded areas with epoxy, silicone or bitumen.

I want to keep koi. Which container is recommended?

For koi we recommend a container at least 60 cm high. For small ornamental or fish ponds, a container 30 or 40 cm high is fine.

Are the containers watertight?

Yes. Our containers are watertight and ready for a pond to be set up easily. There is no need for advance preparation, a liner or any other sealing material. The only need is to protect the metal; the containers themselves are completely watertight, and ornamental ponds can be set up in them on any balcony, roof or paved terrace, and even indoors.
